chair II, the construction notes

LEGS
The main challenge in constructing the legs was determining the correct horizontal length for the slats running parallel to the side edges. They had to provide enough stability to reduce the amount of pressure on the ones in contact with the floor, while maintaining the design's intended suspended appearance. In the end, I chose 9.6 cm pieces — the same ones used in the seat. I positioned them 6 cm from the back edge, aligning them partially with the area where most of the weight is distributed when sitting.

backrest
For the backrest, I chose an 80° inclination. It rests on two vertical supports spaced at the same distance as the legs, creating the impression of a continuous vertical piece.

FINISH
I applied two coats of red satin wood oil and did a light sanding with a very fine grit between coats to further smooth the surface. Due to the high pigmentation of this color, I also applied two coats of lakpolish afterward to prevent smearing.
