All the joints were assembled using dowels. For the seat, I wanted to highlight where the connections were made by using flush dowels. I stained them a darker color to emphasize their presence even more.

The original plan was to use 40 cm wide pieces of solid oak for the seat and backrest to avoid the varying grain patterns of a glued panel, which would conflict with the clean lines of the design. However, sourcing a solid piece that wide proved fairly challenging, which is why I decided to join two 20 cm wide pieces instead. This solution maintained the seamless appearance I was aiming for while addressing the material limitations.
La idea original era utilizar piezas de roble macizo de 40 cm de ancho para el asiento y el respaldo, evitando así la variación de vetas propia de unir distintos paneles, lo que habría interferido con las líneas limpias del diseño. Sin embargo, conseguir una pieza maciza de ese ancho resultó bastante difícil, por lo que decidí unir dos piezas de 20 cm en su lugar. Esta solución mantuvo la apariencia uniforme que buscaba y resolvió las limitaciones del material disponible.

Although the three legs on their own are structurally solid enough to support someone's weight, if the person using the chair were to recline and put most of their weight on one of them, it could prove to be too much stress for it to hold. To address this, I added a "T" shaped frame connecting all of them at the bottom of the seat, keeping it hidden by being 4 cm shorter than the top piece of the legs.
Las tres patas son, por sí solas, lo suficientemente firmes como para soportar el peso de una persona. Sin embargo, si quien usa la silla se recuesta y concentra la carga sobre una sola pata, esa presión podría superar lo que puede resistir. Para evitarlo, agregué un bastidor en forma de “T” que conecta las tres patas en la parte inferior del asiento, quedando oculto por ser 4 cm más corto que la pieza superior de las patas.
